Our story

How Souderton Roofing works

Souderton was chartered as a borough in 1887, when about 600 people lived here. By 1910 the count was 1,875 and by 1930 about 4,000, and the borough filled in with compact streets of attached and detached houses. Today it holds roughly 2,100 homes by third-party figures, about 30 percent built before 1939 and about 37 percent in the 1940s to 1960s, with many row houses and small apartment buildings among the single-family homes.

That mix explains the roofs this line hears about. Attached houses share walls, so flashing along the party line matters. Older decks have often been roofed over more than once. Out in Harleysville and Franconia, farmhouses and outbuildings were built by Pennsylvania Dutch settlers on land first farmed in the 1700s, and their roofs are large and full of valleys, chimneys and dormers.

Weather does the rest. In August 2021 an EF-1 tornado first touched down just south of the borough and ran about nine miles into Hilltown Township, and a few weeks later the remnants of Ida brought a different kind of storm to the towns to the south. When someone rings about a lifted shingle or a stain on a bedroom ceiling, those are the roofs and the weather behind the call.

A fair question, answered plainly

The roofer behind the phone line

When you ring Souderton Roofing, someone writes down your town, what you can see and how long it has been happening, then hands the job to one independent roofing contractor working near you: the partner on your call. That contractor climbs the ladder, finds the source of the leak, writes the quote and does the roof, and its own name goes on the paperwork you sign. Nobody employed by Souderton Roofing does roof work.

Pennsylvania issues no general contractor or roofing licence. Home improvement contractors register with the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General under the Home Improvement Consumer Protection Act, and some boroughs and townships ask for a licence or registration of their own, so what the partner holds depends on the job and the address. No registration or licence number appears on this website: those details are kept off the page for the privacy of a small local business, not to hide them from a customer who asks.

Ask the roofer for its registration number when it calls ahead or at the door, and check it with the Attorney General's office before the work begins. For a permit, ask who applies for it, and call your borough or township office to confirm it is in hand.

What we hold ourselves to

Say what you see, from the ground

The first question is always what you can see without going up there. Photographs and the date the stain appeared are the quickest way for a roofer to understand the job.

Never promise what a roofer controls

Arrival times, prices and the outcome of an insurance claim belong to the roofer or the insurer. Saying otherwise on this site would be a promise nobody here can keep.

Registration is asked about, not assumed

Pennsylvania has no roofing licence. We encourage every caller to ask the roofer what registration it holds and to check it with the Attorney General before work begins.

Local facts or none

Each town page names what is true of that town and nothing else. Where a number could not be sourced, it was left off instead of guessed.

Service standards

Our promises on every visit

  • The line connects you with an independent local roofing contractor and does not do roof work itself
  • No arrival time, price, warranty length or claim outcome is promised on this site
  • Prices on the pricing page are Pennsylvania-wide published figures, not quotes for your roof
  • Coverage is set by distance: all 26 listed towns are within about 25 km of Souderton
  • Pages describe a general pattern as a pattern, and a dated event as an event with its source
  • Reviews are shown only if real customers give them, and none are invented here
  • You are told to stay off the roof, and the roofer decides what is repair and what is replacement

Skip the guesswork. Call for a straight answer.

Tell us what's happening and we'll tell you honestly whether it's a quick fix, and what help should cost.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is Souderton Roofing a roofing company?

No. It is a call line. The independent local roofing contractor connected with your call does the inspection, quotes the price, pulls any permit and carries out the work. The details are in the disclosure below, and you should ask the roofer who arrives for its name and registration.

Who answers for the work if something goes wrong?

The roofing contractor that does the work. Its quote, its materials and its workmanship are its own, and any warranty comes from its paperwork, not from this site. Get the scope and any warranty terms in writing before work starts, and keep photographs of the roof beforehand.

Do you work outside Souderton?

Yes, across 26 listed towns in Montgomery, Bucks and Berks counties, from Franconia, Telford and Lansdale to Doylestown, Norristown, King of Prussia and Bally. Every one is within about 25 km of Souderton. Each town has a page of local detail so you can see what applies to yours.

Why does this site say "about" so often?

Because several figures, such as average rainfall, snowfall and the age of local housing, come from third-party data pages rather than an official local source. They are shown as rough guides. Event dates, like the August 2021 tornado, come from news reports and carry their sources.
